FOUNDER & AUTHOR

Lisa Wiehebrink…

is the proud founder of the Tails That Teach organization and children’s author of the award-winning books, Love Me Gently, A Kid’s Guide for Man’s Best Friend and Gray Whiskers, A Kid’s Guide for Loved Ones Growing Older. Her books are donated to humane societies and elementary schools around the country. Lisa believes that by caring for a pet, children learn important life lessons of kindness, patience, unconditional love, compassion, and empathy. These lessons help them relate to the people in their lives from childhood to adulthood.

Lisa also founded National Rescue Dog Day which is celebrated annually on May 20 to recognize the special bond that comes with rescuing a dog while also bringing awareness to the countless number of dogs waiting to be adopted. In honor of this day, she wrote the book Paws n’ Reflect, Lessons Learned from Man’s Best Friend. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book is dedicated to rescue organizations throughout the country.

Lisa is a dedicated animal advocate and lives in southern California with her family including four rescue dogs.
